Thanasis Valsamis was born in Athens in 1974. He studied law at the University of Athens. He started piano lessons with and Niki Stiniou and music theory with Alkis Papadopoulos. Then he had jazz piano lessons with Stavros Lantsias.
In 2017 he graduated from the Jazz Department of the Ionian University, where he had the chance to study with George Kontrafouris, Dimitris Kalantzis, Dimos Dimitriadis, Stefanos Andreadis and Vasilis Rakopoulos.
His first album “Area Libera”, including his original compositions, was released in 2020.
