Nassia Gofa

Nassia Gofa was born and raised in Athens. She studied palaeontology at the Athens University but soon she realised that she wanted to dedicate herself to music. In 2000 she started studying jazz at the Athenaeum Maria Kallas Conservatory, with Sylvios Syrros and Sofia Noiti and she graduated with a jazz vocals diploma. She also attended workshops and seminars with jazz artists such as Miles Griffith, Cameron Brown, Sheila Jordan and Deborah Davis. She has also been taught the voice system Voicecraft.

She has participated in many groups and has performed at festivals and venues all over Greece. In 2016 she performed the modern Opera’s “Οedipus – Sex with mum was blinding” role of Iokasti at Neimenster in Luxemberg, a play that was also performed at BAM Fisher Theatre, in Brooklyn, NYC. The Opera was succeded by Hotel AntiOedipus in March 2021.

She has taught at the summer jazz academy of Jazz Athenaeum Conservatory and she teaches vocals at Art School Giorgos Fakanas and at Music Praxis Conservatory.

She is a founding member of Jazz Tales.
