Alexandros Lykothanasis was born in Athens. He started playing the piano from a very young age and he continued studying music at the Music High School of Alimos. With Yiannis Papadopoulos as his teacher, he became interested and got engaged more in jazz. Since 2016 he studies jazz at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University.

As a student he had the chance to collaborate with many graduates and students of the department (such as Dimitris Oikonomopoulos, Victor Filippopolitis, Ektoras Remsak, Lampros Papanikolaou, Ntinos Manos) at concerts mostly at Corfu and Athens. Also he has worked with more experienced musicians of the Greek jazz scene: Dimos Dimitriadis, Serafeim Bellos, Yiorgos Kostopoulos and others.
